CALL TO WORSHIP MAY 5TH

Leader: He is Risen!

All: YES! He is Risen!

Leader: Alive and well, he has appeared to his disciples time and time again, having overcome death, he now sits upon the heavenly throne to rule and reign.

All: I want to know Him-YES, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

let's worship together

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)

by: Hillsong United Led by: John and Brooke Bond

You call me out upon the watersThe great unknown where feet may failAnd there I find You in the mysteryIn oceans deep my faith will stand

And I will call upon Your NameAnd keep my eyes above the wavesWhen oceans riseMy soul will rest in Your embraceFor I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest watersYour sovereign hand will be my guideWhere feet may fail and fear surrounds meYou've never failed and You won't start now

So I will call upon Your NameAnd keep my eyes above the wavesWhen oceans riseMy soul will rest in Your embraceFor I am Yours and You are mine, oh

And You are mine, oh

Spirit lead me where my trust is without bordersLet me walk upon the watersWherever You would call meTake me deeper than my feet could ever wanderAnd my faith will be made strongerIn the presence of my Savior

I will call upon Your NameKeep my eyes above the wavesMy soul will rest in Your embraceI am Yours and You are mine

GIVING OPTIONS

PRAYER OF GENEROSITY

Thank you, Father, for all you have given us.

Everything comes from you, and we give back to you only what comes from your hand.

We are grateful, Lord Jesus, for your extravagant generosity, in becoming poor for us that we, through your poverty, might experience the riches of your love.

Free us as a church community to excel in the grace of generosity, that you may be glorified, others may benefit, and we might overflow with joy. Through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen.

Saints Out of Sailors

by: Flannel Graph Led by: John and Brooke Bond

Here in the silence I stand like a stone
The face in the mirror don't look like my own
The cards I've been dealt make me just want to fold
But I won't give you up, no, I won't give you up
No I won't give you up 'cause your anchor still holds

The wind, it's been trying to blast us to bits
And the water's been trying to swallow this ship
My heart has been throwing the gull overboard
But I won't give you up, no, I won't give you up
No I won't give you up 'cause you are my reward

The one who makes saints out of sailors
Carries my frame on his shoulders
He makes me lie down on green pastures
And leads me beside quiet waters
And he's coming for me

Here in the darkness I see the night
The mist and the waves try to fill me with fright
My weary soul waits as the morning dawns
But I won't give you up, no, I won't give you up
No I won't give you up 'cause you're light leads us on
Leads us on

The one who makes saints out of sailors
Carries my frame on his shoulders
He makes me lie down on green pastures
And leads me beside quiet waters
And he's coming for me, oh he's coming for me

Yeah he's coming for me, oh he's coming for me
[x3]

Yeah he's coming for me, yeah, coming for me
Yeah he's coming for me, oh he's coming for me
Yeah he's coming for me, yeah, coming for me
Yeah he's coming for me, oh he's coming for me

He won't give me up, he won't give me up
No he won't give me up 'cause he's loved me for ?

resurrected: Jesus finds saul

By: valorie burgard

Acts 9:1-19

9 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!”

“Yes, Lord,” he answered.

11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”

15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

Saul in Damascus and Jerusalem

Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus.
